FAERSIndex does not collect, transmit, store, or process Protected Health Information (PHI) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). All metrics are retrieved as aggregated, de-identified statistics from public regulatory registries (openFDA and ClinicalTrials.gov). As a result, FAERSIndex is exempt from HIPAA certification and is safe for general research use.
FAERSIndex is designed as a client-side analytics tool. We do not run server-side databases to log your search queries. Settings such as openFDA API keys or license verification keys are stored locally on your device in your browser's localStorage.
Subscriptions, licensing keys, and payment billing are securely managed and processed by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy (Stripe network). We do not collect or store credit card details or bank routing information on our servers. Lemon Squeezy processes transaction data in full compliance with global payment security standards (PCI-DSS).
When you query a substance, your browser communicates directly with government APIs hosted by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). These requests are governed by the respective privacy policies of those public administrations.
